About Dr. Coates

A Community Physician

Dr. Coates has cared for Ridgefield eye health since the opening of Ridgefield Ophthalmology in 2009. She recently celebrated her 10th year as a small business owner in the Ridgefield community. She seeks to serve her patients physical health and provide a professional and calming experience for her patients. 

​

In addition to caring for her community, she is the mother of four children: Laura, Emma, Julia and Steven. Laura and Emma graduated from Princeton University and Julia is pursuing her undergraduate studies at Washington University of St. Louis. Steven, the youngest, is entering his final stage of the Ridgefield Public School systems, while following in his sisters' footsteps of running for the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Ridgefield High School.

Dr. Coates has been married to Dr. Jack Hergenrother for over 25 years. Jack is an engineering executive at IBM.
